Thirsty? Let's Play!

Hi guys! It's been a long time since I posted something here. There has been a lot of motion going on in my life and I just couldn't find the time to sum them up on a post. So I'll just go straight to the most recent events.
Last weekend was a blast! Events here and there and I what's amazing is that I was able to take part of almost all of them. Last Friday was the start of the annual Thirsty Football Cup. My friends and I were able to watch the matches of the UP Football Club Ladies in the Girls 19 Competition. We had a lot of fun shouting and cheering for them that night. I even took a few pictures from that night. click here to view

The next day, UP had its annual Otaku Fest. where hobbyists all over Cebu gathered and mingled with each other. Many people wore costumes of their favorite anime characters. There were a lot of games and contests and there were bands who performed. People were dancing and singing their favorite anime sound tracks. it was a heck of a day and I got to be one of the people who helped in organizing the event although I had too little to contribute.

After the Otaku Fest, I went straight to the Rizal Museum where the annual Ms. UP Cebu Pageant night was held. The ladies of UP looked gorgeous in their gowns that night. my friends and I were shouting and screaming in awe of the intelligent answers of the candidates. we were overwhelmed during that night. We were not disappointed.

Then Sunday came. The day that I have been waiting for. It was our turn to play in the Thirsty Cup Men's Open Category. It was a good experience because all the players who came were able to play in the pitch and our performance was not bad for a team whose players have less background in playing the sport. It was a good experience since we did not lose although we did not qualify after the elimination since we also did not win. All our games were all draws. After our games, I stayed a little bit longer to watch other games since the next games were where the real action begins. The best teams were playing with each other to get the title. After I got tired I decided to rest and went home.

I guess there would be more of these for the coming days. And I hope I could share them all to you. Until the next time... This has been The Moving Aunne saying, "Why wait? Let's keep moving!"

How my fanboy self is feeling about Avengers: Infinity War

Just a few weeks ago, Marvel released their biggest production yet. Avengers: Infinity War, as they say, "is the most ambitious crossover ever assembled". And true enough, that ambitious crossover is now a huge success. I'm not really a huge comic book fan and I'm not really familiar with most Marvel characters. However, since the Marvel Cinematic Universe started to take shape, I became really hooked. I have watched almost all the movies and even the TV shows just so I can get even the smallest details that have meaning to the MCU. From Iron man, to Captain America, to Thor, up to the latest episodes Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I watched them all. Now, this movie puts together these puzzle pieces to form one huge blockbuster hit. As fans, we get to see who would get the honour of playing our favourite superheroes. We get to see how it would look like when they're not just drawn in comic books or animated cartoons. We get to see these heroes as humans...

ORIGINS: The origin of "KAMOTE"

Hello there people!!! today, I was thinking about telling you something informative so here it is: If you know about the sweet potato, in the Philippines we call it "Kamote." But why is it called Kamote? Here's the story of how it came to be. In the land of promise(Cebu) fiestas were very popular. But during the old days, witchcraft was also one of the common practices. Now in one of the places, there was a farmer. He planted very many crops and had so much abundant harvest. The people of the town were very jealous of him because he had more than they had. He was the richest farmer in town. And because of his bountiful harvest, he was able to prepare a lot of food during fiestas. However, there were rumors in town about the visitors never being seen again. There came a time where there was drought during their fiestas but the farmer still had plenty of harvest. an old lady went to visit the farmer's house. the farmer offered her food and was very hospitable to her. ...

MMX

Hello guys! it's themovingAUNNE again! but today's post isn't about a new place I've been to but a new experience for me. August 13 -14 was Cookout MMX  and for me, it was a really nostalgic new experience. Nostalgic because I felt like I went back to becoming a freshman. I never told you that freshman year in college, I joined the sayawan competition and ever since then, I never joined a cookout competion- not until yesterday. yesterday, I joined three different segments in cookout. First, I joined the kantahan segment where I met new friends and found confidence in myself. kantahan was my favorite part of the night because I was amazed on how my supported me and cheered me on. I really appreciated how they let their voices loose just to scream my name. I found friends that I know would be there for me to support me. thank you guys.  the second segment was the rampahan segment. I wasn't so into it though because I got tired since it was already almost 3:00 when ...
